TrackSide

'TrackSide' is an online Racing animation covering Horse racing,Greyhound coursing and Trotting.

Please read the Home page for a description of the Martingale System.

TrackSide Greyhound results
Available in licensed venues or with an account, it allows you to place bets on these simulated events in your own living room while watching them via the internet.

TrackSide is just one of these services but there are many more.

All however seem to follow similar layouts and game play.

For instance, when watching TrackFast even the casual viewer will note that regardless of the race type, be it Greyhounds or Horse racing or Trotting, there are always 12 runners and the odds on offer are always the same on numbers 1 to 12.

This is reflected in the constant dividend that the runners pay.

These payouts are displayed in the following table showing dividends for a win along with quoted odds of winning as supplied by TrackSide.

Interestingly you can see that the payout is far lower than the chance of wining would indicate.  This represents a margin for TrackSide - much larger than playing Roulette.

TrackSide Horse Racing

  • No.1        $4.00        20.6%
  • No.2        $5.00        16.5%
  • No.3        $7.00        11.8%
  • No.4        $8.00        10.3%
  • No.5        $10.00       8.3%
  • No.6        $11.00       7.5%
  • No.7        $12.00       6.9%
  • No.8        $15.00       5.5%
  • No.9        $20.00       4.1%
  • No.10      $25.00       3.3%
  • No.11      $30.00       2.8%
  • No.12      $35.00       2.4%

It is this margin that ensures that if you play any gambling system here long enough, you will always lose.
Of interest here is that TrackSide no longer display these percentages on their web site.

So how will the Martingale system go ?

Please read the Home page for a description of the Martingale System.

The TrackSide simulator only asks for three inputs and assumes you are laying a win bet on the same runner every time.

It then runs for 100 races or until you have run out of money.

The first input is your Kitty - how much money you are prepared to risk wagering.  The default value is set to $100 but this can be changed to anything between $1 and $1,000,000.

The second input sets your initial bet and subsequent bets after winning. The default value is set to $10 but this can be changed to anything between $1 and $1,000,000.

Inputs

The third input required is which runner you wish to back and its corresponding odds of winning are loaded into the software.  Note that it makes absolutely no mathematical difference here if you are backing a horse or a greyhound.  The only real difference is the graphics used to portray the race.

Every time you lose this amount is doubled in a compounding manner.  At a point where you do not have enough money remaining in your kitty to complete the bet the balance of the Kitty is used instead.  On winning this is reset to the the original sum.

There is an optional input here labeled 'Target'.

The default value is $200 and if left set on this value it will stop the simulation once this value is reached or allow the simulation to run for 100 races or until you lose all the money in your Kitty.

You can change this value to any amount between $1 and $1,000,000 and if the simulation reaches this value it will stop.

Once you have set your inputs to your desired amounts simply press the 'Go' button and read the printout for a description of how your wagering went in this simulation.
